HUTT HORTICULTURAL SHOW
The present season lias been an exceptional ono for roses, sweet peas, and carnations in tho Hutt Valley. The long spell of sunny weather has gladdened tho hearts of the gardener, and indications point to a most successful rose, sweet pea, and carnation show in the Drill Hall at Lower Hutt on Wednesday night..
"" Mr. George Remington will judge the i;oses. Miss, H. A. Fox the sweet peas, and Miss Poole. the decorative sections. The challengo silver rose howl in the open class will be defended by Mr. Henry Poole, tho present holder. • Mr. W. L. Meek has, donated a'pair of silver vases as a points ■prize for, the, amateur rose sections. The /trophies for the other main sections have been donated by Messrs. V. Siddifprd, H: M. Hayward.. C. Treve..thick, Thomas Waugh, F. Cooper, F. .JennesS, and Mrs. 0. IT. Vallance. Special'awards will be tnado by the ■Hutt Valley -Horticultural Society for exhibits of special merit, and Royal Horticultural Society,•' and National Sweet Pea Society will be alloted. The'profits "will, as usual, be sent to the Minister of Internal Affairs, to be credited to the Wounded Soldiers' Fund.
