The Waihi Grand Junction Gold Company, Ltd., during the period ended September 8 last, crushed and treated 9800 tons of ore for a return of bullion valued at £17,026 ss. 2d. Compared with the return for the corresponding period cf last year, when 9610, tons yielded £18,087 12s. Bd., this shows |a decrease of £1061 7b. 6d. The total amount won from the mine to date is £1,581,650 15s, lid. The following information was contained in a cablegram forwarded on Tuesday laiS ta the London office of the company:—No. 8-Levcl. Empire Footwall Lode: The drive east has been advanced to 520 ft.; from 480 ft. to 505 ft. the average value for a width of 56in was £2 Us. 4d. per ton.
