TEE SECOND DIVISION
. HINT FROM-PRIME MINISTER. A hint that the Government intends to deal fairly by the Second Division men when they are called up was given by the Eight Hon. W. F. Massey in the House of Representatives yesterday. Referring to. the subject, Mr. Massey said:— "l want to tell honourable members that they will be very hard to please if they are not satisfied -with the proposals of the Government when they come down." Mr. Wilford asked whether the Government would bring down their proposals without having a round-table c«nferencfl with members on iho subject. Mr. Massey said that the pi-int had lot yet been decided by Cabinet, but ha thought that Cabinet would have no objection to such a conference.
