Ingram. , | The report and the balance-sheet were adopted. The statement of accounts disclosed a nominal profit of JCI43 17s. Id. A disquieting feature of the year's operations ivas the fact that the actual cash receipts for the year fell short of the expenditure to the extent- of J!74 is. Id., and the position in this respect would have been even worse had the whole of the union's commitments been met. Another matter was the comparatively large amount owing for union subscriptions. Altogether the position was such that, in the opinion of the committee, tho remaining liquid funds of the union required to be carefully husbanded in order to prevent their further depletion. The sum of JC2OO had been invested in war bonds. The sum of .£250 was voted for the' encouragement of school- Eugby. As some of tlie. amounts that were allocated last year to the various unions for the encouragement of school football have not yet been paid over, several unions having failed to supply the necessary statements of expenditure in respect . to the previous grant, the following motion was carried"That the sum of .£44, nart of .£B7 appearing on the balance-sheet a 6 liabilities, being amounts due to various unions as grants for school football, be written off unless satisfactory accounts are submitted within two monUis, and that in future nn y grant being made be only available for the year in which such grant, is made.
