PEEK TREATMENT IN NECESSITOUS CASES. At the monthly meeting of the Wellington Hospital and Charitable Aid Board yesterday the following letter was received from Dr. Ada Paterson, medical inspector of schools : —"ln my position as medical inspector of schools, I sometimes meet with physically defective children whose parents say that they are unable to pay the charges for treatment and medicine at the out-patients department of the hospital. As there are now two school nurses working undev my supervision in Wellington, it is readily possible for lis to find out tlio true homo conditions and to know when the plea of poverty is justifiable, should esteem it a privilege if your board could sec its way to grant freo outpatient treatment and medicine 111 those cases where, after careful .investigation, I find circumstances warrant it, and send a recommendation to that effect. The following reply was forwarded to Jlr.
