The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Co., Ltd., report having held their animal autumn oatUe fair at PaJiiatua., ou 'Wednesday, when they offered a heavy yarding of all classes to a >Jarge attendance of buyers. Young steers, fat cows, and store cows met with keen competition, but the bullocks, though showing plenty of quality and ■ condition, were Tather neglected. However, a good clearance was made at the following rates<lj-year Shorthorn bullocks, £14 ss.'to £15 2s. 6d.;< 35-year bullocks, J3lO 2s. 6dl to £11 55.; 21year steers, £5 12s. to £9'135.; yearling steers, £«1 4s. to £6 7s. 6d.; weaner steers, .£1 10s. to £2 17s. 6d.;. fat cows, £B.los. to £11 10s.; forward store cows, £6 to'£B 55.; backward do., £2 15s. to £5 55.; cows and calves, £6 10s.; backward cows in. calf, £4 155.; weaner heifers. £1 15s. to £2 '7s 6d.; yearling heifers, £3 ss. to £J lis - bulls, £4 12s. 6d. to £9 ss.
