HOMING PIGEON RACE
The last Tace of the seasoft in connection with the Hutt Valley Homing Pigeon Society, was ilown during- tho week-end from Dannevirke,'-a distance of 98 D\iles. The race was an "interval" event, and the results are as follow:—'W. and L. Booth's Bed Lupin, velocity 1291 yards per minute, 1; W. J. Smith's Sflver King, 1223 yards, 2; Whitehead. and Booth's TTnrfScided, 1191 yards, 3; A. and J. Booth's Wilderness, 1179 yards; -C. D. and 0. Abrahall's Lady Betty, 1045 yards; Thomas Clarke's Corstep, 1026 yards; E. M'MaJion's Shot, 993' yards. The aggre. gate points for young birds on this route nro as followW. and L. Booth,'ll points; W. J. Smith, 10; Whitehead and Booth, 6. A trophy for the highest num. ber in' this connection has been presented by llr. Denby and "A, Friend.''
