DOMINION CONFERENCE
PRESBYTERIAN SUNDAY SCHOOLS. By Telegraph—Press Association. Diinedin, April 20. The fourth annual Dominion Conference of Presbyterian Sunday School workers was opened here to-night;. The number of delegates so far registered is 425 from 90 churches in 'all parts of the Dominion. The visiting delegates were welcomed at the evening meeting by Mr. R-. Duncan, president of the Icoal Sunday School Association, Mr. J.: J. Clark, Mayor, and tbe Rev. W Nichol, Moderator of the Synod. The Rev. W. T. Todd, Convener oi Assembly of the Sabbath School Committee, delivered an inspiring address, expressing the ideals which Sun« day School teachers should have before them, and showing how the conference was designed to meet these. The Rev. W. Goyen/ delegate from the Victorian Presbyterian Church, also' addressed the meeting. YESTERDAY'S, MEETINGS. Dunedin, April 21. The Dominion Presbyterian Sunday School' Conference was continued h&rd to-day, with large attendances, and much enthusiasm. The spoakers at the morning session included the Rev. S. F. Hunter, of Oamaru, on "Principles that Underlie the Modern Snnday School," Dr. J. H. Elliott (Adelaide), Messrs. D. S. Beath and W. H. Rose, on enlisting more scholars in church membership. In the afternoon, four hundred dele, gates inspected St. Andrew's Sunday School, and ,thc Rev. W. Goyen addressed them on. the progress of youth work in Victoria.' . |
