MASTERTON.
The Wairarapa Hospital and Charitable Aid Board, which has been advised in the past in regard too its district nursing scheme by. a committee, of ladies, has decided to undertake the whole responsibility itself in the future. The estimates for .the coming year were adopted at a meeting of the Wairarapa Hospital and Charitable Aid Board on Wednesday. The estimated expenditure shows a Blight advance on that of last year, and includes a- sum of £50 for X-ray appliances for the Pahntui Hospital.
The retail price of factory butter is Is. od. per pound in Masterton.
Messrs. Coradine and Whictaker'a property of 700 acres at' TaraOah': has been sold to Mr. Peroy Oates, of Carterton .
The Territorials in the Opaki camp held a route march to Master ton on Thursday, and gave a military display on the old Showgrounds. A football match was also played between Wairarapa and Hawke's Bay Territorials. The Mauriceville Dairy ..Company is paying Is. Id. per pound for the April supply of butter-fat. A man named Charleston was on Wed. nesday sentenced by Justices to three months' imprisonment on a charge of vagranoy. A class in wool-classing has been, started at the Masterton Technic-vl School, and is in charge of Mr. C. Bannister, a well-known wool expert.
