Dir. Brown has also given' notice to move in' a similar direction at the Harbour Board and High School Board of Governors.

A. large meeting of supporters of Mr. J- T, Blake's candidature for the Mayoralty of Hastings has been held, and h'aii adopted the Belgian colours. Since the Ponsonby Drum and Fife Band visited Napier a similar organisation has been formed here. There are seventy membprs on the roll, and Mr. M. Lovell, secretary of the Napier City Band, is instructing 'them,- pending the appointment of a bandmaster. The Porangahau Sports Club has donated £11 4s. to the Belgiau Relief | Fund.
