KELBURNE SCOUT CONCERT.
The Kelburne Scout concert programme is a really fine one. Miss Cecile Haines will perform some of her delightful items, and Mr. J. Culford Bell, elocutionist, will be heard in some of his impressive scenes. The Orpheus Quartet, who attained distinction for their work at the, recent Competitions, Trill also be heard in their ■favourite pieces. Mr. Bentloy Russell and party, winners of the comedietta class, will produce their most attractive "Curious Q," and a scene from the "Sign of the Cross" will be . staged , by Mr. Tingey, in vrliich ho will play Marcus. Mr. Zante Wood, humorist, will also lw heard in some of his clever sketches. The concert is to help the Scouts to'obtain a training hall. '
SUNDAY CONCERT. . ' The Wellington Professional Orchestra, undir the conductorsllip of Mr. Herbert Bloy, will perform at tho Town Hall tomorrow night. A feature of the - pwgramme will bo a flute solo by Signer A. P. Truda, "Sur les Alpes" (Terschak), with an accompaniment by the full orchestra of fifty players. Another item of importance will be Moszkowski s suite, "In Foreign lands," given in six ports— Russia, Italy, Germany, Spain, Poland, and Hungary. Two numbers-Germany and Hungary—were performed at til© orchestra's last concert with ■ great sueoess. A. silver coin collection, will be taken at the doors. Concert will commence at 8.30.
MRS. F. MUELLER'S PUPILS. Mrs. F. Muolleris arranging to give a pupils' concert at the Concert Chamber on Wednesday, December 18. The programme, which will.be highly diversified, will include choruses, Quartets, trios, duets and solos. A feature 6f the programme will be the singing by Miss Mueller and a chorus of Alfred Hill's dramatic ecena entitled "Waiata Maori," sung in Wellington a few months ago by Miss Rosina Buckman. The concert should be an interesting one.
■ MUNICIPAL ORCHESTRA. It is to be hoped the public will be alive to its responsibility and fill the Town Hall on Tuesday evening, when the Mumcipal Orchestra will give the last concert of tho season, and as only tho most popular of items have been chosen a musical treat is in store. Amongst the numbers selected are Sibelius's grand love poem, "Failandia," Grieg's weird Teer Gynt, Brobm's Hungarian Dances, Jarnefeirs dainty "Prelude," Mascagni's Intermezzo from "Cavalleria Rusticana," and others. Miss Gertrude Hunt is the vocalist of the evening, and will sing Mallinson's "Auf Wiedersecheva" and Henry Bishop s "Should He Upbraid," with full orchestral accompaniment. Mr. Maughan Baijnett, the city will conduct, and this will be the last occasion on which the public will have the pleasure of seeing him conducting the orchestra he has taken such a keen interest in since through his efforts it was founded more than two years ago.
