SALE OF HOLSTEINS.
_ New Plymouth,' September 6.. What is said to be a record in prices for the Dominion in pedigree cattle was obtained yesterday at the first annual sale of Mr. Newton King's pedigree Holsteins Friesian stock. Fourteen cows, three heifers, nine yearling bulls, and two two-year-old bulls were submitted, and realised (for the twenty-eight) Ss77gns.— an.average of 124gns. The majority remain in Taranaki." Mr. B. Morrow (of Eahotu) purchased eight at a cost of 1128 gns., these including Dorothea (219gns.), Mazlis Pauline de Kol (2235n5.), Nazlis Maid (180gns.), and a bull, Echo Sir Inka (180gns.). Mr. Qnina (Tβ Awamntii) secured Duchess do Kol at. 219gns.; 3lr Smedlev (Hobsonville) Prince Alcarta, Pietje (170gns.), and cow Galatea (120gns.); Mr. Mellow (Kaponga), Neil Dorothea Clothilde (177gns.); Mr. Maro Horo (Eahotn) bull, Clothilde de Kol Sigis (loigns.) j Mr. W. Honeyfield (Oakura), King Segis Bounty (148gns.). These were the highest prices, but many others were over a hundred guineas. Grades realised tid to 73gns. ,•■■
