VOTING FOE PICTURES. Very keen interest has been shown by visitors to tho exhibition of British paintings in tho voting for six of the unsold pictures os an indication of those most favoured by tho public. The first count of votes was ina.de.last night, and it was found that the canvas most favoured so far is No. 2G in Gallery No. 1, "Tha Green Gown," by J. Young Hunter, and the next five in their order aro No. 93, in Gallery 2, "Waiting for Darkness," by David Farqnharson; No. 132 in Gallery 2, "Tho Tower Bridge, London," by J. S. Hill; No. 37 in Gallery 3, "September in tho Highlands," by E. W. Allen; No. 57 in Gallery 2, "Passage of tho Red Sen," by Albert Goodwin; and No. 110 in Gallery 2, "Tho Goblin Market," by Frank Craig. Tho second contribution towards tho purchase of a picture on behalf of tho primary schools has been.received from tho Mount Cook Girls' School, tho teachers and pupils of which have subscribed £2 10s. id.
