WELLINGTON CENTRAL. Mr. Hodgkins, tho returning officer for Wellington Central, announces the result'of the recount of the votes to date: Fisher, 2982; Fletcher, 2981; Freeman, 180; Young, 1372.- There are. still four seamen's votes to come and four absent voters' papers.

Eleven moro absent voters' permits canio in to-day, eight of them being recorded in favour of Mr. Buick and throe for Mr. M'Nab. Tho former's absolute majority is thus increased to fifteen. CHRISTCHURCH EAST. IBj Telfluraph.—PreiJ Associating.! Christchurch, December 11. The. count of the votes polled in Christchurch East was completed carotins evening, with tho result that the returning officer found that Messrs. Dayey and Ilunter had received an equal number of votes. The figures published on Friday morning, relating to one booth, credited Mr. Davey with JO moro votes than the figures, as disclosed by the count, showed were duo to him. The returning officer has decided to wait till noon to-morrow to allow abseht voters' permits to come in' before he makes his official declaration of the poll.
