Campbell Moir, charged with tho murder of Trcvascus, has been remanded to Sydney. Tho police ovidenco showed that when arrested ho gavo tho name of Carmichael and stated that ho lived in Ball.irnt and had never beon in Sydney. Ho afterwards admitted that his name was Moir, that ho knew Trcvascus, and wrote a letter to him signed Fisher, offering to sell platinum pins, through which he was traced. NEPHEW OF A MINISTER. (Roc. November 2i, 0.30 a.m.) Sydney, November 23. Tho evening newspapers are responsible for tho statement that Moir, arrested in Melbourne for tho murder of Trcvascus, is a nephew of Mr. Carmichael, Minister for Labour in tho Now South Wales State Government.
MINISTER FOR LABOUR RESIGNS. (Rec. November 24, 0.30 a.m.) Sydney, November 23. In the State Assembly Mr. M'Goweu, tho Premier, announced that Mr. Carmichael, Minister for Labour, had decided to sever his connection with tho Ministry, much against the wish of his colleagues. After hearing what Mr. Carmichael had to say thero was no alternative but to accept. He wished to doclaro in tho most public manner that ho hoped tho severance would bo only temporary. Several members of the Opposition expressed sorrow at tho resignation.
