. TIMBER ACTIVITIES. Over 3,DOO,COOft. of Oregon pine was carried on tho steamer Henrik Ibsen, which arrived at .Auckland from the Columbia, Biver recently. Some 2,000,000 ft. of the lumber will be discharged at ■ Auckland and the halaneo at Sydney. The vessel carries I.OCO.DOOft. on her deck, the timber being stacked about 14ft. high from stem to stern, some of the pieces of timber being 2ft. square. While Oregon pine is being largely imported, large quantities of new Zealand timbers are being exported from Hokiaugn, Kaipara, Whangarei, Mercury Bay, and the Great Barrier. The Hairuna, is at present discharging over 2,000.C00ft. of timber from New Zealand at Sydney, the ba.rque Aldcbaran is on tho vvay to Sydney with over MO.OCOft, and the barque Korthern Chief and barqucntino llanda Isle are at present loading timber at Auckland for Australia. Tho stcamors_ Kurow and Kaituna, at present discharging coal at Auckland, will afterwards load timber at Kaipara for Sydney. PORT OF WESTPORT. She is to sail at si" o clock to-night for Picton, Nelson, and Grcymouth. Haupiri s.s., arrived from Greymouth last night with a full load of coal for Wellington. She leaves the Bluff on October 24 for Sydney. To-morrow the Kia Ora, Rhaw-Savill steamer is to get away for Timaru to complete discharge of Home cargo.
