OTAKI ITEMS.

At the Police Court yesterday a young man named — Leader, of Levin, was charged (l)-with shooting three swans, tho property of George Bovan, of Manakau, valued at 255., and (2) irii.li trespassing with intent to shoot imported game. On the first count defendant was fined £i and costs, and on the second convicted and discharged. In connection with the samo case, David Bevan was charged on the information of Leader with using certain language. The cuso was dismissed.

An organ and sacred song recital was held here on Thursday ovening, but, on account of rain, the attendance was not so large as would otherwise have been the case. The items given, however, constituted a capital programme.
