HASTINGS ITEMS.

The General Committee of the Hawko's Bay A. and P. Association met to-day at the grounds at Hastings. Tho sub-com-mittee appointed to confer with Mr. Nelson concerning his otter to sell 51 acres at Tomoana as a sito for show grounds, presented its report. They gavo tho details of Mr. Nelson's offer, and recommended that it bo accepted. Tho committee further recommended that tho association's funds should not be touched, Tmt that a subscription- list should bo issued to raiso the cash required, and, if possible, to pay off tho whole of the purchase money. At this stago Mr. J. H. Coleman, one of the original founders of tho .association, mado an offer of .£IOOO conditional upon the remainder of the purchase money (JMSOO) being obtained within twelve months. Messrs. A. H. Russell, B. Chambers, T. H. Lowry, and L. M'Hardy each agreed to donate JEIOOO. The report of the sub-cqmnrittee was adopted.
