ITS OPPONENTS MEET. A number of delegates from soft goods warehouses, who arc opposed to the formation of a Merchants' Assistants' Union, mot in tho Commercial Travellers' Club last night, in order to prepare a plan of campaign against the movenlent. Mr. W. Munckton presided. Tlio'feeling of the meeting appeared to be that an award in the dispute is bound to be made, and thai: what they would have to combat was a preference clause. A proposal to call a general meeting was discussed, but no action was taken in that direction. The chairman was appointed to act on behalf of delegates and if opportunity offered to place before the Conciliation Commission the views of- the (signatories to the deputation that had moved in this connection.
