The form shown, in the first match or two was naturally disappointing, but recently something like a return to last year's play has been Men, and if the Maoris aro able to reproduce their effort, of Lift year patrons will bo pleased with their visit to tho park—especially after tho very dull game between the conutry teams last Saturday. The. team has been added to in Wellington by the inclusion of several players who wire unable to make tho trip through the Dominion. Among these arc Grace, of Old Boy?, and the two Winiatas, of Ilorowhenua. As a "curtain raiser" tho annual match between the Wednesday representatives and jiminv representatives will bo playqd at 1.30. The Maori team will be as follow?:— Full-back, Poanangn; three-quarters, TCyland, Grace, Rawiri; five-eighths, Knipara, M. Winiata; half, Ralima; wing, Maknhuri; forwards—hookers, Cochrane, Dawson; iock, Moana: supports, Takarangi (captain), W. Winiata; back row, French, A. Grace. Mr. W. J. .Veralith will act as referee. •' WELLINGTON FOOTBALL CLUB. SMOKE CONCERT. The annual smoke concert of the Wellington Football Club was held in the Marino Institute building last night, when Mr. T. S. Konaldson presided over an attendance of 150 members and friends of,the club. Among those present were a number whose connection with the club dated from the eighties.
During the evening the trophies won for the season : closing were presented to the following:—Levin Shield for highest points, scored in the competition at the beginning of tlie season, K. Lambert; Pownnll Cup for best all-round player in senior fifteen, K. Lambert; gold pendant, presented by the president to each member of the junior fifteen, winners of the championship; Mr. A. Hill's trophy for best all-round player in third, fifteen, G. Alley; Mr. H. Toner's trophy for best all-round player iu fourth fifteen, A. C. Chapman. Tho following toast list was honoured: —"The King;" "Boys of 1890," proposed by the president, and responded to by Messrs. 1 ,, : Povna.ll and G. Fache; "Buys of 1891," proposed by Mr. A. T. Bate, and responded to by Messrs. Stuart and Gallagher; "Boys of 1901." proposed by Mr. K. Galbrnith, and responded to by Messrs. V. K. Meredith, O. G. Kember, and A. B. Wilson; "Boys of 1911," proposed by Mr. G. H. Mnrray, and responded to by Mtssrs. Sheridan and Kember; "One President," proposed by Mr. J. Thompson, and responded to by the president; "Club Captain," proposed by Mr. O'Meara and responded to by Mr. 1). Weir; "Tho ■Secretary," proposed by the president, and responded to by Mr. A. J. Hill; and "Our Opponents."'
