JAPANESE IN THE SOLOMONS.
MYSTERIOUS STRANGERS. By Teloirach-Prtss Assodation-CoiirrlirhJ (Rec. August 3, 9.25 p.m.) Sydney, August 3, Professor Macmillan Brown, of Christchurch, who was a passenger by the steamer Minindi from the Solomon Islands, stated that it appears to be a. fact that within tho past few months at least one party of Japanese has visited tho Islands. The Japanese arrived in a cutter, which they said had been blown out of its course. The explanation wnj regarded as a thin one, and tho general impression was that tho strangers were looking for suitable silos for rubber plantations.
