OUT WITH THE HOUNDS.
The Manawatu Hunt held a very ■successful "meet" at Carnarvon on Saturday afternoon. The weather was entirely suitable .for the sport, and there was. a , big "field" of followers and a large number of spectators. The runs, of which there were four, were over the properties of Messrs. J. Lurasden, E. Durham, W. Scott, and M. Boyle, and this proved ideal hunting country, there , being a number of'gorsa hedges among the obstacle?, while the jumps numbered nearly fifty in the course- of nearly five miles. Afternoon tea. was dispensed at the residence of Ifr. J. Lumsden by Mrs. and Miss Lumsdeu. The drags wero laid by Messrs. L. and S. Lumsden, and the following were among those who followed tho hounds:—Messrs. Bruce M'Ewcn (master) on Ringman. D. Bennett (huntsman) on Sultan, L. Lumsden on Katipo, Ray M'Kenzie on Lucky Boy, S. Lumsden On Rangi, 11. M'Ewen on Trncey, D. Tennant on Kangiata, T. Buick on Toa I'uiign, W. Buick on Go-on, J. Donaldson on Lulu, C. W. Duncan on Sheila, G. Duncan on Marcus, T. Shaw on Merry Legs, J. Ilehir on Oroua Downs, F. N. Robinson on Monto Christn, E. H. Robinson on Hikorangi, M. Hchir on Himitangi, A. Scott on Lady Worry, H. Lumsden on Honesty, L. Deridder on Royal Academy, J. Smith on Gay Boy, ,T. Tuohy on Moutoa, P. Coley on Tβ Awahou, v>. Scott on Nomination, and K. ]j, Belhune on Buster.
