AT THE EXHIBITION.
VICE-REGAL VISIT. THE FINALS IN THE TENNIS. A total of 1408 visitors passed through the turnstiles at the Exhibition yesterday bringing the attendance to dale up to 128,613. The rash receipts for tho day amounted to ,£34 10s. .Id. Amongst the visitors were his Excellency the Governor, Lady Islington, and party, who paid n special visit to a matinee performance of Prof. : Godfrey's birds, etc. SCHOOL CHILDREN'S VISITS. The Wereroa Training School Band will plav at tho Exhibition this afternoon, when about 120 boys from the. school, under Major Burliuson, will visit the exhibits. . Advice has been received from the headmaster of the Kaitoko School that he is bringing a party pt school children down to view the Exhibition on lliursday. FANCt DRESS AND MASK BALL. A reply has been- received from his Excellency the Governor extending his patronage to the fancy dress and mask ball which is to be held in the Stadium on July 28. His Excellency regrets, however, that he will be unable to attend the ball. Arrangements are in hand to hnye tne flodr prepared for dancing, and the authorities are satisfied that the floor will be in excellent order. LAWN TENNIS. A fair number of people gathered in the. Stadium last evening, when the tennis tournament, was concluded, lhe results were as under:— Second round-. Miss Hill beat Jhss Kirker. 30-26. Jliss Jenkins played a [good steady game, but. Miss Webb was not by any means up to her best form. Mr. D. Murray Kean, lion, secretary of the Wellington Provincial Lawn Tennis Association gave great assistance in the conduct of tho tourney. The committee also wish to thank those who gave their services as umpires.

There will" also bD a" push-off contest (five men in team). This is similar to a scrum, only that the men are back to back. A dribbling contest is to be held, for which a large number of expert's at the game are entering. EXHIBITORS' DAY. Saturday next promises to be a redletter day in the history of the Coronation Exhibition. The gates have been purchased for that day by the exhibitors, who.are arranging what promises to be a whirl of big attractions, which will- be kept going from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m.— twelve hours of amusement. . In the morning there will be singing and reciting competitions for school children in the Coronation Theatre, and a monster baby show will be held in the Stadium during the afternoon. There will also be children's athletic and tug-of-war competitions, a Punch and Judy show; mov. ing-pictures) concerts, etc., all going on at the same time in different parts of the buildings. Thousands of samples will be given away ftee. ,£IOO worth of prizes are to be distributed, and every thousandth person to pass through the turnstiles will receive a Waltham watch. It is estimated that ten watches will be Seeded, when means that 10.000 people are' expected to pass into tho Exhibition on Saturday next. An attraction at the Exhibition is the beautiful exhibit of Mr. F. W. Montbey, of Mount Albert. It consists of an exquisite variety of Australiasian shells that have been worked into artistic designs by the exhibitor, consisting Of photo frames, handkerchief boxes, and ornaments of many kinds. This exhibit should draw considerable attention from patrons.—Advt.
