NOTICES OF MOTION
At the meeting of- the City Council tomorrow evening, the following motions, of which notice lias been given, will be discussed: — ' "That a return be submitted to the council showing the amount expended in the beautification of tho city. —Councillor Barber. "That the city engineer and city solicitor bo instructed to draw up a by-law or by-laws, giving tile, council power to prevent the erection of any private latrine on any ."ite whore the council <lwm its presence would lia objectionable; nlfo, giving the council power to prevent the erection of use of nny building in future for fnctorv or oilier purpose where they considered that the smoll emitted would be objectionable; also, giving the council power to prevent tin- erection nf nny building that they consider would bo unsightly, undesirable, or denreciating to anv locality."—Councillor Cameron. "That, in the opinion of (his council, the time has arrived when all restaurants, rea-rooins. and other oatin° , -houws should he licensed by (lie local authority, and that a deputation from this council wait upon the Government to urjro thfin to nn-'s Ihe necessary legislation."— Councillor Fuller.
