Our conditions, he believed, would bo similar to those in Switzerland. , ■ As to transmission, Ur. Parry said there would be very little waste in transmission up to 500 miles. As to (he cost of electric power, it was supplied by a company in Yorkshire at an average of 4-sd. of a penny per unit. "It is , niy ambition," Jlr. Parry eaid, "to make New Zealand's power supply the cheapest in the'world." He starts on his duties almost immediately.
