THREE DISTINCT WANTS. The City Council now has in its hands three petitions affecting hours of closing in the grocery trade. Tho first petition was presented by a number of city grocers, who desire that six o'clock shall bo fixed as a universal closing hour. Counter petitions, opposing the change, have been presented by European small grocers and by Chinese grocers. Yesterday the Town Clerk intimated that several persons had written him, asking that their names should be removed from the first-mentioned petition, on the ground that they had signed it under a misapprehension.
