CARS HELD UP.

SLIP ON WADESTOWN LINE,

At eiplit o'clock yesterday morning a heavy slip came down on the Wadcstown line at a point near Hie lower end of tho main cutting, just about half-way between Park Street and the Wadcstown terminus. A great quantity of spoil descended on Die permanent way and a Bang of labourers were enlaced'for two hours in clearing the line sufficiently to enable cars to pats. Fortunately one car was on the Wadcstown side of the slip when it occurred, and from eight o'clock until ten the service was maintained as far as possible by running cars hack and forward from either end of the line. Other slips are very likely to occur on the Wadcstown section, particularly if.the wet weather that has ruled of late continues. At ,1 good many points storm water has visibly penetrated portions of the new formation along the line, and these spots are being anxiouslv watched.
