WESLEY DEBATING SOCIETY.
« The weekly meeting of the Wesley Literary and Debating Society was held in the 'Wesleyan Institute Buildings last evening. Jlr. C. 11. Jones occupied the chair, and there was a guod attendance. An excellent paper on "Charles Dickens," by Jlr. J. 11. Ilelliwell, was read by Jlr. W. E. Fuller. Selections from Dickens's works were read by Jliss Jl. Dix, Messrs. E. Cuming, E. B. Korsley, and Jlr. W. E. Fuller. At the close of the meeting a heartv vote of thanks was accorded to Jlr. Ilelliwell for his paper. On Mondny liext "Extempore Speeches" will be the order of the evening.
