A LOYAL RESOLUTION. (By Telcerapli-Prcss Association.) Christchurch, Juno 14, At a meeting of the general committee of tho Canterbury A. and V. Association, "on tho motion ot the president, Sir Geo. Clifford, the following motion was unanimously carried, tho members standing:— "That this association desires to place on record its deep" sentiment of personal loyalty and devotion to His Gracious Majesty King George V on the occasion of his Coronation, and its prayer that a reign already so 'auspiciously begun may long and gloriously maintain tho noblo tradition loft by his illustrious father." Sir George Clifford suggested that the association should mark the Coronation br something in connection with the annual show. He would suggest that a, Coronation shield should bo obtained, to contain scrolls, on which the names of the winner.* of the highest points in the sheep competitions might bo inscribed. Mr. J. D. Hall said perhaps it would not be desirable to confine tho shield to sheep only. Sir Georso Clifford replied that tho donations already promised for the shield were for sheen classes. Other donations could, however, be received for other cluf.ws. The matter was referred to tho chairman of the Stock Committee to consider in what way tho next show might bo a. Coronation memorial.
