BARTON'S CIRCUS.

Barton's Circus, which opened nt New* (own last evening for a season of three nights, deserves the compliment, of being, of itf kind, n fjond, honest show, and. though tho unfavourable weather last night affected the attendance, ithe circus, on its merits, should be well supported (luring its stay here. There is a generous piogrammc of items, each of which, has its peculiar .merit. Alton and Mate, acrobats, perform creditable feats-with tho Roman vings, and introduce a daring trapezo balancing act, diversified with somo clever work on a vortical rope. Paul Tasman is the juggler and balancer of the company, and performs some clever balancing feats ivilh spinning plates. The circus possesses a, very cldver little trick pony in Tom-Tom, introduced by Clown Abrahams. Tom-Tom provides plenty of amusement, and finishes up by chasing his master out of the ring. A graceful equestrian act is performed by Miss Marguerite, whose turn is given a touch of sensationalism by the introduction of a jumping, feat over Mexican fire bars, tho rider hanging head downwards as tho horse leaps through die'(lames. A feature of the show is the high-jumping of the two greyhounds, Hobart and Tartan, who are stilted to hold the record for high iumps-13ft. 3in. A sensational high wire act introduces JWllc. Jandinschensky, whose turn is an acceptable one. One of the star turns of the evening is contributed by Barney, the bouth African bucking mule. Barney has a marvellous facility for ridding himself of wonld-bo Cfiucst'rians, aud ho docs it in r a manner which affords a lively entertainment for the spectators. The Musical \\ catherleys, in a comedy act, add to tho fun ot (lie circus. Hich jumping ponies, a spectacular pyramid tableau by the Irny-rs Troupe, a pony steeplechase, and Silver QiifPii (a hiebly-trained Hungarian pony) are other attractive items on the programme.
