(By Tele era n h.—Siiecial Correspondent.* Wanganui, Jlay 3. There is a very heavy list claiming attention at the next sittings of the Native Land Court at AVanganui, opening on Tuesday next. No lower than 68(i cases arc set down for hearing, of which 135 are applications for partition, 55 aro applications to cut off portions of land to satisfy unpaid survey charges, and.3o are applications for survey charging orders. The balanco of the list deals with cases of. a•general nature. A branch of the- New Zealand Jersey Breeders' Association was formed here last evening, with Jlr. J. W. Deem aschairman, and Jlr. C. Hiorns as secretary. Messrs. ,C. K. Jlackay andMno. .Tones were to-day reinstalled as Mayors of Wanganui and Wanganui East respectively. Customs duties collected for the port of Wanganui for April amounted to ,£6102 7s. Vd., ns against .£SBIB 11s. Bd. for the previous April,
