A Christening Party. Mrs. 0. F. Vallauce recently gave a largo family party to celebrate the christening of thoir littlo grand-daugh-ter, Audrey Temple Williams, daughter of Mr. and Mrs . Erl Williams, of "Matnaku," and also to celebrate the christening of Nancy Hope Williams, infant daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Guy Williams, _ "To Parae." St. Albans Church (Taueru) was beautifully decorated for the occasion with sheaves of Michaelmas daisies and white hollyhocks. The vicar of St. Matthew's Chxirch, the Rev. Mr. Watson, officiated. After the ceremony, the guest's went on to "Kahumiiigi," Mrs. Vallajico receiving in the hall, whero tea and coffee wero served. The tables were most artistically arranged with huge silver bowls of chrysanthemums, the same flowers being massed on the mantelpiece, and about the room. Mrs. Vallance wore a grey striped coat and skirt, with a Burberry hat. Miss Zena Vallance was i}i a white embroidered dress and white hat. Mrs. Erl Williams, cream costume and long squirrel coat, and toque to match; Mrs. Guy Williams, a blue serge costume, and petunia-coloured felt hat; Mrs. Hugh Williams, dark coat and skirt, and grey hat with black osprey plumes, and black fox furs; Miss Reston, white embroidered frock and white hat; Miss Baird. dark blue frock and brown straw hat; Airs. Morrison, navy blue costume and burnt straw hat with roses; Miss C. Morrison, Royal .blue costume, and hat to match, with white fox furs. There were also present: Messrs. 'A Presentation, Yesterday evening Miss Powell, who has been connected with tho Town Clerk's office staff for the past three and a half years, was, on the eye of her marriage, presented with a silver tea service as a mark of esteem.
