Homo fourteen head of lawn have been captured in the Gladstone district this season, for liberating in various |-.;\rts of the province. A portion of the capture was brought in to the local railway Nation yesterday for consignment. There are three for the Feathers!on district, some for Hawke's Bay, and a few will go to the farm at l'araparaumu. They were a healthy lot, in fact the best that had been .-eon for sonic time. An effort is being made in Cartcrton to form an Orange todge. The egg-circle movement is beginning to spread, which is only to l:o expected as the benefit of the organisation becomes more widely known. Yesterday a resilient received a communication from New Plymouth asking for information as to [lie working of the circle, a movement being afoot there. At a meeting of. the South Wairarapa River Board on Monday, it was decided to plnnt about five chains along the spit of the lake with marram grass in Hay. A special muster parade of the Carterton Rifles is to be held on Friday evening. At this parade all Government property must be handed in, and arms presented for inspection. At a meeting of the Druids' Lodge on Monday night, Bro. A. Johnston was elected to the vacant O.G. chair. One new member was initiated, and a friend proposed for membership. The retiring D.1 , ., Bro. W. Erickson, was presented with a framed diploma and handsome PiD.P. collar. ' Mr. H. Simmonds, formerly of the local past office staff, and lately of Greytown, left on Wednesday morning, on transfer to the Hurt. The produce, etc., which formed a prominent feature in the local Salvation Army's harvest festival, was disposed of by unction on Tuesday evening by Mr. Fairbrother. ■ ■ ' ■

FEILDING. Feilding bowlers mustered in force yesterday ' afternoon to watch the contest between the Masterton Club's rink (Wilks, Harrison, Staples, D.' l'rasnell, skip—challengers), and P. Thomson, Clapham, Stewart, Bartholomew (skip), for the Di.xou Cup, which the local rink has held for a couple of months. Feilding ran away with the game, scoring 2D points to 6. Masterton scored only in the first, fourth, sixth, seventeenth and eighteenth heads. 'fho eighth show of the Apiti Industrial and Horticultural Society, held yes"torday, was a greater success than ever.
