SOME SHOW ARRANGEMENTS. (By Telegraph.-SDecial CorressondenU Palmorston, llarcli 26, A light but prolonged shock of earthquako was felt hero at five minute to four on Saturday morning. A meeting of the Dairy Show Committee of the Manawatu A. nnd P. Association was held on Saturday afternoon. Present:—Messrs. C. Dunk (chairman), I'. S. M'Rae, J. O. Batchclor, S. K. Lancaster, J. A. M'Crea, W. M'Kenzie, A. Sutherland, and J. Balsillie. The various halls were allotted for the different divisions, tho hall now in course of CTcction being set apart for butter, cheese, and home industries, and, if space will permit, for apples also. It was decided to add the following competitions to the schedule: —Jtilkiug contest, butter-mak-ing, and scone-making, all to take place in the show buildings, the prizes for each event being fixed at £1 for first and 10s. for second. The following wero appointed a committee to arrange ring events:—Tho chairman anil Messrs. Lancaster, M'Rae, Batchelar, Gibbons. M'Rac. and Pringle, with power to add to their number. The following senior stewards wore appointed:—Butter, Mr. S. Standen; cheese, Mr. S. K. Lancaster; fruit, Mr. J..R: F. Pratt; vegetables, Mr. J. A. M'Rae; field roots, Mr. F. S. M'ftae; public school exhibit.';, Mr. J. O. Catcnelar; homo industries, Mr. J. Balsillie; poultry, Mr. St. C. Jounncanx; gates, Messrs. J." lt. Johnston and J. R. Foster Pratt. Various other matters in connection with the show were discussed.
