HON. T. MACKENZIE'S FUTURE.
Ms own opinion.' (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) Duncdin, March IG. The Hon. T.'MackcMio was entertained at a complimentary "social" by Taieri electors at Mosgiel to-night, tho gathering being largo and representativb. Complimentary speeches were made by a num. bcr of gentlemen and Mr. Mackenzie was presented with an illuminated address in which reference was made to the main points in his public career sueh as his work in London, his exploration work in New Zealand, and his long services in Parliament. In reply Mr. Mackenzie touched on these points, and also referred to his position in politics in future. Ho saicj that if the Taieri electorate' was not considerably altered ho would again, be a candidate for that seat, but even if it was cut out altogether, he thought that, he would still be able to win a seat in the House. An Imperialistic note was struck in most of tho speeches.
