sealed handicap, in conjunction'with the Club Championship was won by T. Johnson, S. M'Dowall being second. The trophy tor highest aggregate in club runs was won by C. Rowberry, with V. Will on ■ second... Tno annual Cross-Country Cham- ; pionship of New Zealand was held at ;' Invercargill, and a team of five men from Wellington made the journey at their • own expense. Although Iho team was beaten by Utago and Soutli- , land, a good race was run by Rowberry, ,-■ who finished third for Hie individual • ichampionship. It is expected that this ! year the championship will bo held nt ■ -Wellington, when it is howd that mcin- ■ bers ot this club will do" their best to- . assist-in the. entertaining of visiting : teams.. The annual road race for the r Whyto and Mackay Shield was held in 1 conjunction with the Hoys' Institute sports at the Athletic Park, and was'won by the Wellington Harriers' team—Curry, Lamborg, Bennett,' and Press. Fastest time was made by C. Rowberry, who ran for the Zealandia Rifles' team. An enjoyable, run was held at tho invitation of Mr. 11. A. Lamb, sen., from his residence in Coromantlel Street, early in the season. In view of the fact that a miin- : ber of members.of the club have previously had experience in Old Country clubs, an opportunity was given them of showing their abilities against, a team of colonials. After an-interesting race over five miles, the New Zealand team won by the narrow margin of six points, L.- Salck making fastest time. An interesting raco was also decided by teams selected by the captain and vice-captain respectively, and resulted in a tie. 'Members were pleased to welcome the formation of another, club in the city in the Brooklyn Harriers, and hope that last year's policy of holding combined runs-will bo continued. The thanks of the club are due to the following for donations and trophies :—Messrs. W. H. Bennett, A. E.Whvte, V. Wilton, ■I. H. Pollock, A. Marryatt, 11., J. Pollock,'and Rev. G.
