MISSIONS TO SEAMEN.
An instructive lecture on-how to act in. a sudden emergency calling for' medical attention was given by Mr.. Moore, at tho Missions to Seamen's Institutelast evening. Thero was a large and interested audience. The lecturer dealt chiefly with tho common accidents, those likely to occur in tho daily round of life,' showing tho methods of bandaging broken limbs, bleeding arteries, burns, etc. Ho also gavb several useful hints relating to health matters. 'Competitions on rescuing a person from a burning building and ambulanco work were held, and won by sailors from ships in port. '< A most cnjoyablo programmo of music was provided by Miss Gow, tho following " contributing'"items':—' Misses Gov/ and Anderson, Messrs. R. N. Wilson; Black,' and Jones (s.s. Orari). The performers were accorded a hearty vote.of thanks at the conclusion of tho meeting.
