j-Up till yesterday 'no nominations had Tr oe l\. £ ccclvotl f° r 'he vacancy on the Hutt Borough Council, caused by the resignation of Councillor Barlow.

The Petono Rowing Club, will hold its Junior Pairs event to-night. The crews are:~-W. Humo (stroke), Baumgrcen (bow); A. Packard (strike), Clapson (bow); P. Brunette (stroke), J. Wilson (bow); J. Daley (stroke), W. Symons (bow).

The Petono Borough Council decided last evening not to employ canvassers in connection with tho compilation of its electoral roll. A remark by Councillor Harding that if people were too lazy to enrol it was their ov;n lookout, drew a chorus of approval from his brothermembers.
