RACE TRAFFIC ON HUTT ROAD. A SERIOUS SMASH. . On Monday-night, while tho heavy vehicle traffic was returning from .the Trentham racecourse a serious accident took place in the vicinity of Mason's Gardens, Taita. It appears that a buggy' driven by Mr. Oiliver and containing-Mrs. l'etcrs, Mrs. Cudby, Ina Cudby, and Mr. Aston made an attempt to pass another vehicle which was.."preceding it. At the time a motor-carj owned by Mrs. Jacob Joseph', came from behind, and the chauffeur apparently endeavoured to pass tho' buggy. The road at tho spot is narrow,, and. a collision took place The buggy was turned right over, throwing tho occupants violently to the ground. Ina Cudby, a littlo.girl of tlireo or four years, sustained a broken thigh,-Mrs.. Peters was badly bruised and cut, while Mr. Oiliver also sustained injuries.. The occupajits of the car, Mr. F. G.'
