HUTT AND PETONE NEWS.
(From Our Own- Correspondent.) ■ '. At the Petqne Police Court yesterday morning, before Messrs. K. Mothes and A. Coles, J.P.'s, the following cases' were dealt with:—Ernest O'Donnell, for leaving a vehicle unattended, was convicted and discharged. J. Heron, E. Jackson,. A. ■ Barber, ■T. Young, and W. Pointon were charged with trespassing on. the railway line. The stationmaster stated m evidence that the were determined to use stringent meaGures to put trespassing down. Sergeant Forster stated that tlie defendants had given wrong names when detected, but Pointon had afterwards admitted the offence. Heron liud Jackson were each fined ss. with 7s. costs, Barber and Young 10s., with 7s costs, and Point-on 7s. 6d., with 7s. costs For driving a vehicle after sundown without a light John NankiviHo was fined 20s. and costs 7s On a further charge of driving a vehicle on the wrong side of the road a fine of -20s. with costs 7s. was imposed on defendant. Prohibition orders were iwued against Michael M'Aulitfc, William M'Auliffe, and Andrew Fromen.
