HIS STATISTICS ASSAILED. ~ ■ (By Teleßr'apli.—Press Association.) ; , I nvercargi 11, November 22. .A' meeting of local • doctors to-nigM discussed Dr. I'indlaj-'s proposals with regard to certain diseases, and criticised his speeches thereon, 'particularly his statistics. The criticism was Torgely on the lines of Dr.' Kingston Jyffe's recent letter. The following resolution was carried: "That the Medical Association of Southland is of opinion that. Dr. Findla.t's statistics are absolutely misleading and-incorrect,'and are certainly not applicable to Southland in the experience of members, and it is. absolutely inconceivable from what authority the figures were obtained. Further; in the opinion of this ' association, the -Attorney-General's pro-' posals, instead of attaining the objects in view, would unquestionably increaso the. evil." It. further stated that it : was doubtful whether Dr. Findlay's figures would hold good even in a lock hospital." '■;■
