CANDIDATURES OF MINISTERS. ■ . IBy /Peleeraph.—Press Association.) Auckland, November 17. ■ The business pf tho Presbyterian Assembly of New Zealand for. 1910 was concluded this afternoon. The moderator (Rev. J. H. M'Konzie) presided. ■ The report of tho committee on ministerial tenure stated that almost all the presbyteries and sessions had agreed upon two points of. grave importance. First, the abolishing of "caniiidating" by restricting congregations to tho consideration of, one namo at a time;'second, requiring ministers (except for reasons approved by their presbyteries) to stay at least five years in their charges. To adopt these suggestions slight alterations were necessary to threo sections in the Order Book. ' On tho motion of tho Rev. D. M'lvor it. was ; resolved:. "That the amended regulations be sent down to presbyteries under tho Barrier Act." As tho result of an ovortnro from the Auckland Presbytery it was agreed that a standing committee bo set up to tcceive applicants for admission coming from the Church of Scotland, the Irish Presbyterian Church, the Free Church of Scotland, of the English Presbyterian 1 Church,. and,, if their com-, missions be in order, tho presbyteries be empowered to receive them. At present such applicants have to await tho sittings of: the Assembly. "■ Aβ an' outcome of the committee's recommendation, the Assembly resolved, on the motion of the Rev. W. 0. Gomrie, seconded by the Eev. I. Jolly: "That the next Assembly-meet on November 8, 1911, at Dunedin.
