— 0 . CELEBRATIONS. Telccraph—Press Association— Copjrlehl London, May 24. The children in British schools sang Kipling's "Recessional," and read his new poem, "The Dead King." The Sandgate and Epping schools exchanged flags with tho schools of their Australian namesakes (iu Queensland and Victoria respectively). Celebrations were carried out on a largo scale at Fanning Island, tho Seychelles (in tho Indian Ocean), and Antigua and Trinidad'(British West Indies). CADETS' COMPETITIONS. . (Eec. May 25, 10 p.m.) London, May 25. Empire Day was celebrated quietly. Addresses in the 7 schools were a leading feature. Lord Roberts and many others watched the Imperial cadets' competitions. A holiday was observed throughout Canada.
