HOSPITAL TRUSTEES.

; The fortnightly meeting of the Wellington Hospital Trustees was held yesterday morning. ■ Present: Hon. C. M: Luke, M.L.G. (chairman), Messrs. R. C. Kirk, G. T. London, J. W. M'Ewan, F. T. Moore, Agmen Smith, J. Trevor, G. Nash, and J. Danks. The statement of receipts and expenditure showed a credit balance of £2297 45.; receipts from in-patients were £174 6s. 4d. (previous fortnight, £200 7s. 10d.; same period, 1809, £107 ISs. 2d.}; out-patients had paid £13 4s. (previous fortnight, £12 13s. 6d., same, period, 1909, £14 155.). Tho chairman remarked that many' of the out-patients were too poor to pay even a ■ shilling for a bottle •of medicine. The number of in-patients on March 21 was 238. Tho Electric Light and Power Committee recommended that a hearty vote of thanks be recorded Mr. Stuart Richardson, M.1.E., for his gratuitous -.services in preparing conditions, plans, specifications, and estimates of work for the proposal to instal electric lighting at Wellington Hospital,; also that a report bo made to the new board submitting for its consideration tho plans, specifications, and estimates of tho ' sehenio prepared by Mr. Richardson, and ■ that a- price bo obtained from the-city 'corporation-for complete! lighting of the institution by electricity/the Gas Company to.be afforded an opportunity of sending in a ,tender;,for; a. further, period of lighting ,by gas. Accounts amounting to £1203 10s. were passed, for payment.
