MASTERTON. Tho military sports, to be held at Masterton on Easter Monday under the auspices of the Masterton Mounted Rifles, promise to be a success. Entries are coming in freely, and a large gathering is anticipated. ■ Tho stack competition, under the auspices of tho Masterton A. and P. Association, was judged to-day by Messrs. S.. Foreman and G. Shaiv, resulting in a win for Mr. 0. J. Percy with 84 points, Mr. F. Evans coming second with 80, Mr. W. Daly third with 71, and Mr. H. Trass fourth with 54 points. The points were awarded as under:—Evenness, or regularity of build, 20; spring of butt, 10; hang of sheaf in butt, 10; spring or projection of eaves, 5; hang of sheaf in eaves, 0; pitch of roof above caves, 5; .general pitch of roof, 5; hang of sheaf in roof, 15;. finish of apex, 5; straight roof, concave, or convex, 5; compactness or tightness of roof, 10; general proportion or finish, 5; total 100. The following are the points awarded to tho winners, given in their respective order:—First, O. J. Percy, 17, 8, 7, 5, 5, 5, 4, 12, 3, 5, 9, 4, total 84; second, F. Evans, 17, 6, 8, 4, 3, 4, 5, 12, 4, 4, 9, 4, total 80; third, W. Daly, 11, 6,. 10, 3, 4, 4, : 4, 15, 2, 4, 5, 3, total 71; fourth, H. Trass; 12, 7, 7, 4, 3, 2, 2, 7,.2, 1, total 54. FEILDINC. The erection of a technical school building at Tokorangi at an earlv date, its contomplated-Tlie Pohangina County Council has voted. £25 towards tho work, over £25 has boon collected locally, and another £25 is assured. The Wanganui Education Board has asked tho local committee for a, sketch plan of what is required, and an estimate of the cost in order to take further action. . •, ■
Tho Feilding Golf Club has elected the following officers:—President, Mr. David Prydo; viee-prosideut, Mr. W l . H'. M'Leau; captain, Mr. J. Power; secretary and treasurer, Mr. G. Logio (re-elected); committee, Messrs. J.; Lowis, S'. A. Parkes, C. Grut,' A.'M. Ongley, and J. Caiman.
