A preliminary meeting of Mr. Crawford's supporters was held yesterday af-ternoon-to further his candidature for the Mayoralty. It was decided to form committees in the different districts. .'• Mr. Crawford will probably address a public meeting the -week after next. Owing to the demands made upon his time as a member of Parliament, Mr. Jl P: Luke has decided not.to be a candidate for the Mayoralty of Wellington. Mr. F. U. B. .Fisher, M.P., has been mentioned as a possible candidate for tho city Mayoralty, which he unsuccessfully contested last year, but he informed a Dominion" reporter yesterday that he had definitely decided not to stand.
