Weston (secretary). ; In connection with the establishing of ' the Associated Chambers of Commerce 'of New' : Zcaland, v a copy of,tho association's rules, etc., .was read, and the'president and secretary wero : authorised to send a favourable reply regarding the formation of tho same. Regarding the: proposed alteration 'of tho railway time-table, a letter was received from tho Masterton Chamber stating that that cham-- : ber has requested the Minister for Railways, Before, fin ally .deciding the matter, to furnish a. copy of. the proposed, alterations, in order that an.opportunity may be afforded to consider how far they- will meet the needs of tho Wnirarapa. Tho Masterton Chamber asked the,Pahiatua.Chamber'to make tho same re^ ' .riuest. .It is .proposed to subsequently con'-, vene a meeting of delegates from 'all the chain-' . bers of commerce and ..local bodies interested. It was. resolved to *mako the .samp request as the Masterton Chamber, and to ask the Minister for' Railways to see that, the Pahiatua re-' isidehts:were connected by mil'with the Na-pier-Wellington, express train, lit ,was decided to ask the postal authorities to instal the.metallic system before the.busy season commences. , The secretary was instructed to write to tho Roads Department asking what steps' had been taken in. connection with the completion of the Makairo .Gorge Road between Coonoor and Pahiatua,. the late.' Premier ■ having promised assistance -in the matter oh the occasion of his last visit to Pahiatua, and also' what had been done, in connection" with tho Puketoi-Mouut Marchant Road..
