FEILDING.
Tho Oroua .Tennis Club (Feilding) intends to open the season on tho courts this aftornoon. Arrangements aro in hand for holding a matriculation examination in Feilding this year. 'Hitherto the Feilding candidates for this examination have had to sit in Palmerston. So far there' aro 13 candidates announced, nino of whom aro pupils of tho High School. Keen regret (says tho "Star") will be felt throughout tho Kimbolton district at tho death of Mrs. P. Haggarty, relict of Mr. P. Haggarty, which took place on Monday night, in the Palmerston Hospital. Mrs. Haggarty came to New Zealand 30 years ago, and had lived in tho Kimbolton district for '22 years. 1 _ A strong staff made a start on tho erection of tho telephone line between Waiata and Colyton»on Friday morning.
