A nautical inquiry has opened regarding the loss, off tho Tasmanian coast, of the barque Loch Finlas, of-whose crew (24) only .four survive. • Two seamen stated that Captain Lonrion (wfco stuck to .the sliip and Was. drowned) was not sober at the time of tho disaster, nor fiad he.been for several days. Tlid mate, who was in charge, was, they said, a sober man. Tho vessel sank within twehty-fivo minutes of striking.
