MEAT TRUST INQUIRY
LIST OP MEMBERS. The Committee set up by tho Britfsh Board of Trade to investigate tho alleged existenco of a meat trust controlling tho British market consists of Lord Robert Cecil, K.G., M.P; (chairman): Mr. C. W. Boiverman, M.P., Deptford; Sir T. H. Elliott, K.C.8., Permanent Secretary, Board of Agriculture; Mr. W. Field, M.P., president Irish Cattlo Traders' and Stockowners' Association, and vice-president National Federation of Meat Traders (Incorporated); Mr. 11. Fountain,-: Board of Trado Statistical Department Mr. \Y. Dudley Ward, M.P., Southampton Mr. William Weddcl (Messrs. AVcddcl and Go., colonial meat importers); and Sir. P. Ashley, of the Board of Trade, will act as secretary. Thoir'duties ara "to inquiro how far and in-what manner tho general supply, distribution, and price of meat in tho United Kingdom are controlled or affected by any combination of firms or companies."
